Your project: approvals without paper chasing
Many companies already pay for Microsoft 365 and use only Outlook and Teams. In this course you use the tools hidden in the same subscription, Forms, SharePoint, Power Automate and Copilot Studio, to build a purchase approval system that runs by itself.

Meet Dijla Engineering
You will build the system for Dijla Engineering Services, an example contractor in Basra with four departments. Today a purchase request is a paper form. Karrar, a site engineer, fills it in, walks it to his manager Zainab, then to Wisam in finance if it is expensive, then to purchasing. Forms get lost on desks, nobody knows where a request is, and urgent items wait for days.

ستبني النظام لشركة «دجلة للخدمات الهندسية»، وهي مقاول مثال في البصرة فيه أربعة أقسام. طلب الشراء اليوم استمارة ورقية: يملؤها كرار مهندس الموقع، ويحملها إلى مديرته زينب، ثم إلى وسام في المالية إن كان المبلغ كبيراً، ثم إلى المشتريات. تضيع الاستمارات على المكاتب، ولا يعرف أحد أين وصل الطلب، وتنتظر المواد العاجلة أياماً.

What you need from Microsoft 365

Before you start
- A work account (name@yourcompany.com) with a Microsoft 365 licence.
- Permission to create a SharePoint site, or an existing site where you can create lists.
- Two or three colleagues willing to act as test managers, or a second test account.
- Your real approval rules, written down: limits, who approves what, and who must be told.
- Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer.

What should you do before building the approval flow?
The flow can only follow rules that exist. Clear limits and approvers make the build simple.
