When a colleague collapses, bleeds heavily or stops breathing, an ambulance can take 15 to 30 minutes to reach an oilfield, port or factory. The person who helps in those first minutes is usually a co-worker. This self-study course gives you the knowledge to act quickly and correctly, following the 2025 resuscitation and first aid guidelines of the American Heart Association, the European Resuscitation Council and Resuscitation Council UK.
Across eight lessons you will follow Ali, a maintenance technician at an oilfield services company near Basra, as he becomes a site first aider. You will learn how to plan first aid cover for a workplace, check the scene for danger, carry out the primary survey (DRSABCD) and the secondary survey, and place a casualty in the recovery position. You will learn high-quality CPR for adults, children and infants, how to use an AED, and how to treat choking. You will then cover severe bleeding and tourniquets, shock, wounds, heat and chemical burns, eye injuries, fractures and possible spinal injuries, heart attack, stroke (FAST), seizures, low blood sugar and anaphylaxis. The last lesson deals with the emergencies of Iraqi workplaces: heat stroke in the Basra summer, hydrogen sulfide and other gas exposure, electric shock, scorpion and snake bites, the first aid kit, records and drills.
Each lesson includes original diagrams and illustrations, worked examples from the case, and questions that check your understanding. The course includes three narrated videos, downloadable forms and checklists, and a 25-question final exam. CPR and first aid are physical skills: we strongly recommend a short practical session on a manikin with an instructor in addition to this course.

ستتابع على مدى ثمانية دروس علي، فني الصيانة في شركة لخدمات الحقول النفطية قرب البصرة، وهو يصبح مسعف الموقع. ستتعلم تخطيط تغطية الإسعاف الأولي في مكان العمل، وفحص المكان بحثاً عن الخطر، وإجراء المسح الأولي والمسح الثانوي، ووضع المصاب في وضعية الإفاقة. وستتعلم الإنعاش عالي الجودة للبالغين والأطفال والرضع، واستخدام جهاز الصدمات الآلي، والتعامل مع الاختناق. ثم تتناول النزيف الشديد والعاصبة، والصدمة، والجروح، والحروق الحرارية والكيميائية، وإصابات العين، والكسور واحتمال إصابة العمود الفقري، والنوبة القلبية، والسكتة الدماغية، ونوبات الصرع، وانخفاض سكر الدم، والتأق. ويتناول الدرس الأخير طوارئ أماكن العمل العراقية: ضربة الحرارة في صيف البصرة، والتعرض لكبريتيد الهيدروجين وغازات أخرى، والصعقة الكهربائية، ولدغات العقارب والأفاعي، وحقيبة الإسعاف والسجلات والتمارين.
يتضمن كل درس رسوماً ورسومات توضيحية أصلية وأمثلة تطبيقية من الحالة وأسئلة للتحقق من فهمك، وتضم الدورة ثلاثة فيديوهات مسموعة ونماذج وقوائم تحقق للتنزيل واختباراً نهائياً من 25 سؤالاً. الإنعاش والإسعاف الأولي مهارات عملية، لذا نوصي بشدة بجلسة عملية قصيرة على دمية تدريب مع مدرب إلى جانب هذه الدورة.

All employees, and especially appointed first aiders, supervisors, HSE officers, site engineers and staff in oil and gas, construction, workshops, ports, factories, offices and schools. No previous training is required.
