A hands-on course where you build an AI agent in n8n that reads staff requests, looks up and updates records with clear permissions, logs every change and sends risky actions to a supervisor for approval. You also test it against misuse and share tools safely over MCP.
Agents are AI systems that do more than answer: they decide which tools to use and then act on your data. That makes them valuable, and it makes design and safety essential. This hands-on course teaches you to build an agent that a team can trust.
You build a delivery assistant for Al-Mansour Furniture, an example company in Baghdad whose customer service team handles about 60 delivery change requests a week. You learn when to use an agent rather than a chatbot or a workflow, how the think-tool-look loop works, and how to set permissions before you build: what the agent may do alone, what needs the staff member's confirmation, what needs a supervisor, and what it may never do. In n8n you build the agent with a chat trigger, a Gemini model, memory and a careful system message. You add read tools that look up orders and delivery slots, and write tools that change only four allowed columns and log every change. Cancellations go through a separate approval workflow that emails the supervisor and waits, with a time limit. You then test the agent with twelve scenarios, including prompt injection, missing information and forbidden requests, read the executions, set iteration limits and error alerts, and learn how to share read-only tools with other AI apps through MCP. The last lesson covers rollout, costs, ownership and change control.
Every lesson has illustrated step-by-step screens, copy-ready prompts, tool settings and expressions, short narrated videos and knowledge checks. Starter files include the data template, system message, tool descriptions, all expressions and the test scenarios. The course ends with a 15-question final exam.
Operations and customer service leads, automation builders, IT staff and managers who want AI to take routine actions safely. Completing an n8n course first (such as H-1 or H-2) is recommended. You need an n8n workspace, a Gemini API key and a Google account.
